I am always looking for better tools for building drones, this time I think I found a better electric screwdriver – the ES126 from Sequre. Is it better than Wowstick, YES! In fact it’s 7 times more powerful!

People used to laugh at me when I tell them how much I love electric screwdrivers.
I’d love to see their faces when they have to do a bunch of 30mm screws like this all the time. Not so funny now huh? 😀
In situations like this, electric screwdrivers are true lifesaver!
Let’s cut to the chase, the ES1260 is easier to use than my once beloved Wowstick (with the lever adapter mod). It’s faster and is WAY MORE POWERFUL. I will show you the results from my testing shortly.
BUT! It’s also a lot more pricey than the Wowstick.
So… Is the ES126 better? Well, the Wowstick remains to be one of the cheapest electric screwdrivers you can get that is actually reliable (mine is 3 years old still going strong).
If you have the budget, I’d definitely recommend the ES126, it’s way more versatile and more suitable for building RC models than the Wowstick.
The Wowstick is more suitable for smaller things like repairing smartphones, sometimes it just doesn’t have enough torque for bigger screws like M3, which can be a little frustrating 🙂
The ES126 from Sequre has a shiny metal finish, it feels very solid in hand and considerably heavier than the Wowstick:

It has a very similar look to the ES120/ES121 that I used before, even dimensions are almost identical. However I asked Sequre and they told me they have no relation to the other company.
The way it works is also similar to the ES120, you press the button, rotate your wrist (just slightly) and the screwdriver will spin in that direction using motion sensing. It’s super intuitive and easy to use.
There are two buttons, they are essentially the same, but the top button turns on the LED at the tip for working in dark areas, which is handy. The only thing that annoys me is how far the buttons are from the grip, it can be awkward to use sometimes. But I fixed that with a mod which I will show you shortly.
There’s also a screen, which I don’t look at at all except checking battery level. Well you can adjust torque level with it too, but I just leave it at max. There are 6 options: Auto, P, 1 (maximum), 2, 3, 4 (minimum).
The ES126 uses M4 screwdriver bits, which is a very common size and you can get replacements easily. It’s cool that it comes with 24 screwdriver bits of all sorts in a very nice case.
The bits are held securely inside the case by magnets, so they don’t fall out easily. However they missed a 2.5mm hex bit which is also useful for building drones.
The Sequre ES126 has a built-in battery and it can be recharged through the USB-C connector. Battery life is fantastic, I built two quads in the past week, and I am still at around 60%-70% from a full charge 🙂

So this is a new testing rig for electric screwdrivers I came up with. By lifting weight, I can test the speed (RPM), as well as the torque of these screwdrivers.
Although I am a little surprised by the result, it actually confirms my experience with these two screwdrivers. The ES126 has 46% higher RPM (rotation per minute, at close to zero load), and it’s 7 times more powerful !

Bloopers: when I was testing the ES126, I ran out of coins and had to use my hammer as weight 🙂 The power of this little guy puts out truly amazed me.
There are two mods I strongly recommend doing.
First mod is the finger control lever adapter by Painless360: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2805221
The buttons on the screwdriver are quite far from the grip, and so it’s not easy to press. With this lever adapter it makes it so much better.
It’s made for the ES120, but as I said, the ES126 has almost the same size, so it works very well 🙂
