Chelsea fans have been reacting to the Chelsea team to face Atletico Madrid this evening.

Thomas Tuchel‘s men are in Bucharest, Romania, to take on La Liga leaders Atleti in the first of two legs in the Champions League Round of 16.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last seven games heading into this one, and they will be hoping to take an advantage back to Stamford Bridge ahead of the second leg.

In a bid to do just that, Tuchel has decided to include Callum Hudson-Odoi in his starting XI in a shock move after the events of the weekend during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Southampton in the Premier League.

Hudson-Odoi was brought on as a substitute and then replaced with Tuchel ‘unhappy’ with his ‘pressing and counter-pressing’.

Since then, the German head coach has spoken in glowing terms about Hudson-Odoi, suggesting there were no lasting issues from the incident, and he has backed that up by starting the winger at wing-back this evening.

Hudson-Odoi takes Reece James’ spot in the right wing-back position with Tuchel also bringing Andreas Christensen back into the defence, replacing Kurt Zouma.

N’Golo Kante has also dropped back to the bench with Jorginho coming back in to start in one of those holding midfield roles, alongside Matteo Kovacic.

Here’s what Chelsea fans have had to say about the starting XI for tonight’s game.

In full, Chelsea’s team starting Xi consists of Edouard Mendy in goal with Hudson-Odoi, Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso making up the back five.

Jorginho and Kovacic start in midfield, while Mason Mount and Timo Werner start in the advanced midfield roles, given the licence to drift wide and join attacks.

Olivier Giroud makes a surprise return to the striker role, replacing Tammy Abraham, who has been favoured so far under Tuchel.
